Beefsteak tomatoes 'Marmande'
Descrição
HOW WE GROW IT
A classic French tomato grown in good soil, with no synthetic feed or sprays. Marmande is a ribbed, old-fashioned beefsteak type that takes its time and rewards it.
THE PRODUCT
Deeply flavoured, meaty, and properly tomatoey — the taste people mean when they say tomatoes used to taste better. The fruit is large and irregularly ribbed, with dense flesh, few seeds, and a rich balance of sweetness and acidity. This is a slicing tomato in the fullest sense: substantial enough to be a meal on its own.

A TIP FROM OUR KITCHEN
Slice thick, salt lightly, and eat with good olive oil and nothing else — this is the tomato for that. Layer with mozzarella and basil, or pile onto toasted sourdough rubbed with garlic. Too good to cook, really, but if you must, it makes an exceptional simple sauce. Never refrigerate — keep at room temperature.
