A heat-loving crop grown in full sun, We grow both red and green varieties and pick the pods young and tender, by hand, every secound day — okra turns woody fast if left too long on the plant, so timing the harvest is everything. Cut fresh close to delivery.
The product
A colourful mix of red and green pods, picked small and tender when they're at their best. Young okra is mild, grassy, and far less mucilaginous than the older, larger pods that put people off — cooked well, it's genuinely delicious. The red pods turn green when cooked but look beautiful raw, making this mix as good to look at as it is to cook with.
