HOW WE GROW IT

Grown on trellised vines, in composted beds with no synthetic feed or sprays. Sungold is famous among growers for a reason, and we pick it only when each little fruit is fully orange and ready — the flavour drops off sharply if picked early, so we don't.

THE PRODUCT

Astonishingly sweet, with a bright orange skin and an almost fruity, tropical flavour — Sungold is the cherry tomato people become slightly obsessed with. The fruit is small, thin-skinned, and bursts with juice. Often described as the sweetest tomato you can grow, it rarely makes it from the garden to the kitchen without being eaten.

A TIP FROM OUR KITCHEN

Eat them straight from the bag, warm from the sun — that's the best use there is. Otherwise, halve into salads, or roast whole with olive oil until they burst and caramelise, then spoon over pasta, ricotta, or grilled bread. Blister quickly in a hot pan for an instant sweet-savoury side.
