Red beet
Descrição
How we grow it:
Beets are slow-growing root vegetables that need undisturbed, deep, healthy soil to develop properly. We build that soil over time — with compost, mulch, and no chemicals — so the roots can reach down and draw up genuine nutrition. What you get is a beet with real flavour and real colour, not a watery imitation.
The beet:
Earthy, sweet, and deeply satisfying. Our red beets are harvested at full maturity — firm, heavy, and intensely flavoured. We deliver them with their tops on. Don't throw the tops away: the leaves cook just like chard or spinach and are equally nutritious.
Ordering details:
- Unit: Sold by the bunch (4–3 beets with tops)
- Harvest: Lifted fresh on Wednesday morning, delivered the same day
How to cook it:
Roast whole in foil at 200°C for 45–60 minutes until a knife slides through easily — the skin slips off under running water. Grate raw into salads. Blend into soup. Pickle in vinegar and spices. Or simply slice roasted beets over labneh with walnuts and mint. One of the most versatile vegetables on the farm.
