Sweet Carrot 'nantes'

How we grow it:
Carrots need deeply worked, stone-free soil to grow straight and well — we prepare our beds carefully and feed them with natural compost, nothing synthetic. The 'Nantes' variety is a classic for a reason: cylindrical, blunt-tipped, and reliably sweet. We grow it without pesticides or herbicides, letting it develop slowly in real ground where its natural sugars have time to build.
The carrot:
Truly sweet, tender, and full of flavour — very different from the large, bland carrots that sit in supermarket bags for weeks. The 'Nantes' variety has a fine-grained texture and a high sugar content that makes it exceptional both raw and cooked. Delivered with their tops on — a sign they came out of the ground this morning.
Ordering details:
- Unit: Sold by the bunch (8-12 carrots with tops)
- Harvest: Lifted fresh on Wednesday morning, delivered the same day

If you want your kids eating carrots, this one is for you!
Don't peel them — The skin on a fresh carrot has flavour. Eat them raw as a snack, roast whole with olive oil and a pinch of cumin, or add to a broth for natural sweetness. The tops are edible too — blend them into pesto or use as a herb in salads. Nothing wasted.
